Empowering Voices: Celebrating Women of Impact on International Women's Day
On this International Women's Day, the spotlight shines brightly on the stories of strength, resilience, and impact brought to you by two extraordinary women at ONCALL SACARE – Mags and Klade.
Mags is our fashionable and friendly NDIS Specialist, bringing a kaleidoscope of colour and a love for music to her six-year journey with the organisation. Her path to empowering others took unexpected turns—from a social work degree to the realms of the music and fashion industry—only to circle back to studies infused with a newfound passion for aiding those in need.
Guided by remarkable women breaking through glass ceilings, Mags discovered her niche in guardianship, mediation, and disability advocacy. Surrounded by the resilience of women in a predominantly female industry, Mags draws daily inspiration from their unwavering determination. Her ultimate mentor, her mother, redirected her career from medicine to teaching and achieved a Ph.D. at the age of 62.
For Mags, International Women's Day transcends mere celebration; it's about honoring women's achievements across professions, recognising progress, and actively advocating for global gender equality. Mags urges women to champion one another, celebrate victories, and support each other through challenges. Her advice resonates with a rhythm of authenticity—walk to your own beat, see the best in people, and understand that life is enriched when you fill your cup while helping others fill theirs.
Klade: Orchestrating Leadership in Healthcare
At ONCALL SACARE, Klade, the National Manager for Clinical, Quality & Safeguards, a serene and smiling presence, reflects the culmination of a diverse and impactful career. Nursing found Klade through a fortuitous error in her application, leading her through the realms of acute care, community nursing, international outbreak management, primary health, and disability services.
Klade acknowledges the pivotal role women mentors played in shaping her journey, paying tribute to Maria Barredo, Chloe Kempe, and Jenny Hall. Mentorship, she believes, has been the cornerstone of her career growth. In her current role, Klade takes pride in spearheading initiatives such as the opening of a primary health center, specialist disability accommodation, and the establishment of ONCALL SACARE’s Learning and Development department.
A staunch advocate for fair pay, female representation in leadership roles, and discrimination-free policies, Klade underscores the collective responsibility of both men and women. International Women's Day, for Klade, is not just a day of reflection but a call to action to bridge the gender gap. She advocates for vocalising discrimination and actively pursuing change.
Klade extends her advocacy to young women, encouraging them to carve a professional path, seek mentorship, network, and embrace change. Her message is universal—irrespective of gender, everyone can contribute to the empowerment of women by providing mentorship, cheering each other along, and sharing opportunities.
As we celebrate International Women's Day, the stories of Mags and Klade serve as poignant reminders of the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women in the workplace. Let their paths inspire us to continue supporting, uplifting, and advocating for one another.
